Beneficial Intenational Conference

Date: (09-12-2021)

An International Conference titled “The Future of Transatlantic Relations: Turning a New Page on Enhanced Cooperation Amid New Security Challenges” was held on 7 December 2021 in hybrid mode (in the premises of the Sofia Central Military Club and virtually through CISCO WebEx VTC platform but also live-streamed on the CMDR COE YouTube channel). The conference was co-organized by Sofia Security Forum (www.sofiaforum.bg), Konrad Adenauer Foundation (www.kas.de) and the NATO Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE).

The main goal of this conference was to provide a forum for discussions on the potential strategies for addressing and dealing with the most pressing security challenges of our times under the reinvigorated transatlantic partnership and also to critically examine the ways in which the new relationship between the European Union and the US Administration will evolve in the future.

A range of topics were presented by key speakers across the Atlantic to the virtual participants. The audience have had the privilege to exchange views and ask questions to such a distinguished briefers and Panellists like the former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, Ambassador Todor Churov, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Sedat Önal, the State Secretary of MFA of Romania Dănuţ Sebastian Neculăescu; other civilian and military executives; representatives from non-governmental organizations, think-tanks, and the academia.

The CMDR COE thanks all speakers, organisations and individuals who performed this prominent conference and added value to its success.
