Excellent overall result

The Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence (CMDR COE) has successfully completed its Periodic Assessment (PA).
The evaluation was conducted by a specially designated PA Team from Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation (HQ SACT), which visited Sofia from 4 to 6 November 2025. This was the third assessment of the CMDR COE since its establishment more than a decade ago and concluded with an excellent overall result. The evaluation confirmed the Centre’s full compliance with NATO’s Accreditation and Assessment standards, highlighting the high quality and consistency of its work in support of the Alliance’s strategic priorities.
While in Sofia, the members of the PA Team and the Directorate of the Centre – Director, Colonel Orlin Nikolov, Deputy Director Captain (Navy) Theodoros Pachis, and Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) PCC Nicoleta Primavarus – visited the Ministry of Defence, where they met Minister Atanas Zapryanov and Director of Defence Policy and Planning Directorate, Brigadier Lyubomir Monov. The successful outcome reinforces the CMDR COE’s reputation as a reliable and innovative partner within NATO’s network of Centres of Excellence, continuously enhancing its expertise as a CMDR subject matter expert and advancing knowledge, capabilities, and collaboration across the Alliance.
