Geographic Information Systems Day
Date: (16-11-2020)
Every year in November the world celebrates Geographic Information Systems Day.
At the same time, the World GIS Day in Bulgaria for more than 20 years is a major platform for sharing and exchanging experiences, for presenting innovations, trends and good practices in the field of geospatial technologies. The host and official organizer of the event is Esri Bulgaria – the company that this year celebrates 25 years since its establishment.
An online conference was held in Bulgaria on November 18 on the occasion of the World Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Day, where leading international and Bulgarian experts presented the latest developments, solutions, and good practices in the field of geospatial technologies and their application in the coronavirus pandemic and crisis management, environment, security, engineering infrastructure, urban planning and development, and much more.
One of the main highlights of the forum’s program was the implementation of GIS in support of efforts to combat Covid-19.
More information can be found on the event website here.
Crisis Management and Disaster Response Centre of Excellence has been honoured to be an official partner of the online conference presenting innovations and good practices in the field of geospatial technologies on the occasion of the World GIS Day.
